Wiley Post Airport is located in the dynamic northwest sector of Oklahoma City, close to numerous residential communities. The airport has enjoyed an excellent rapport with these neighbors and wants to maintain that supportive relationship. To that end, we have established certain noise procedures, some of which are listed below. For a full description, please refer to the Airport Facility Directory (AFD).

Preferential Runway Usage
  • Wiley Post has three runways. Whenever weather and safety conditions allow, the runway with the least impact on residential areas will be utilized.
  • Runway 13-31 is closed to jets.
  • Aircraft over 12,500 pounds are prohibited from taking off from Runway 13 or landing on Runway 31.
  • Runway 13-31 is closed to touch-and-go and stop-and-go operations.
  • Aircraft over 12,500 pounds departing from Runway 17L-35R must climb at a maximum rate consistent with safety, to an altitude of 1500 feet AGL, then reduce power setting and climb rate to 3000 feet AGL or 2 NM from airport, depending on air traffic control and safety conditions.
